….you make lemonade! While everyone at home is shoveling out their cars in negative temperatures, we were enjoying the first day of sun and 40 degree weather here in Goteborg! We took advantage of the beautiful weather and rode the ferry to the island of Brännö (check out the photos below), but we had a few hiccups along the way.
There was some construction on the tram lines that we weren’t expecting. Luckily, the locals were super helpful and translated the announcements for us! After 2 trams and a VERY crammed bus, we finally made it to the ferry!
It turns out that January isn’t the best time to visit the Swedish Islands (who would have guessed?) and the only restaurant on the whole island was closed. Instead, we enjoyed a picnic lunch seaside with sandwiches made by our Hostel hosts. After lunch, we hiked up the rocks and took in the breathtaking views before starting our journey back home.
When we got back into the city, we had dinner at Karlson’s Garage (the same place we had drinks the first night) and I tried Swedish Meatballs! I wasn’t the biggest fan, but everyone else enjoyed them!

Coffee Break
After spending the day on the island, we needed to warm up with a cup on Hot Chocolate on the Ferry. The ferries aren’t as fancy as the cafes, so this tasted like home (a Swiss Miss packet).

Cocktail Break
At dinner, we were treated to Black Licorice shots at Karlson’s Garage I’m not the biggest fan of Black Licorice, but I never turn down a free shot! We cheered to making it through the first weekend!

Today’s Top 3
1. Dress for rock climbing when visiting the Swedish islands!
2. Riding the ferry was cool, but I think Dr. Shephard hyped it up a little too much.
3. Just when you think you’ve beat jet lag, it comes back….
Another fun day. So much to see and experience. Enjoy the pics so much❤❤
