Sunday Scaries

Today had a little bit of a slower start than most days. We grabbed breakfast at the Hostel before taking off to go shopping in Haga. We stopped a few touristy shops and of a course a basic white girl home goods store. It was called Rum For Inspiration and I was OBSESSED! Like seriously I would take two of everything in the store if I could fit it all in my suitcase. We tried to find a chocolate shop, but they were all closed so we’re going to have to head back later this week.

As much as I was trying to avoid it, we finally gave in a tried out the Swedish McDonalds. They had a bunch of different options, but I went with basic McNuggets. Call me crazy, but I think they were better than American McNuggets. The only down side? THEY DON’T HAVE RANCH!

We’re been missing Fika the past few days so we took some time to sit and enjoy it today before heading back. We stopped at a little cafe near the hostel called Linnes Lilja. I know I’ve been hyping up Tin Tin’s, but I think Linnes Lilja is giving it a run for it’s money! The biggest competitive advantage? BENTLEY! I mean really, how can you say no to this adorable little guy??

For dinner, we embraced some of the cooking techniques we learned at the cooking school! Well we actually ordered pizza, but made our own starters and desserts. My group made a spinach and artichoke dip that even Chef Daniel would love! Lyndsey and I have made the dip a bunch of times, but trying to find the ingredients in a Swedish grocery story made it way harder than we thought it would be. We must have gotten the right things though because everyone loved it!

Coffee Break
Attention everyone: We have moved on from Tin Tin’s Vanilla Latte! I would like to introduce Linnes Lilja’s Kaffe Mocha! It was so creamy and delicious and was the perfect warm-up on this gloomy, rainy day.

Cocktail Hour
Sorry to disappoint, but cocktail hour did NOT happen today! Happy Sunday!

Today’s Top Three
1. If your dog eats glass, white asparagus can get them pass it without getting cut.
2. A lot of shops aren’t open on Sundays in Sweden.
3. You can make pretty much anything vegan!
